Each school has a dedicated teacher who is responsible for the educational needs of adopted (previously looked after) children. This is the best person to discuss any issues in the first instance.
Each Local Authority also has a virtual school team to provide support, information and advice to families and support to advocate for your child’s needs within school. Virtual School is committed to raising the educational attainment of all our looked after children and previously looked after children, and in doing so, aim to reduce any existing progress gaps between these children and their peers.
